Deep Issues:
Working Deeply with Greater Effect, Less Client Discomfort and Reduced Strain on You
Incorporating “Deep Work without Deep Effort” Into Your Practice
This course combines a review and discussion of a range of concepts underlying “Deep Tissue” massage with self-assessments and hands-on practice to provide massage therapists with tools they can use to work smarter, not harder, to get deep results that are less tiring, easier on the therapist’s body, and customer-friendlier.
This is not a “New Technique” course.
This course is designed to help you use techniques you already know, and use them more effectively. Making simple adjustments, sequencing, and combining techniques can often bring a new power and ease to an “Old Technique.”
Massage therapists taking this course will be able to:
• Name and understand the physiological principles of several major approaches to effecting positive change in painful, chronically tight, dysfunctional soft tissues.
• Perform a quick self-assessment of their deep tissue skills with respect to physical effort, body mechanics, and client satisfaction.
• Incorporate effective changes to the application of whatever techniques the therapist is currently using that will make those techniques easier and more effective.
